For entertainment and health and fitness there is an Everyman independent cinema, River Park Leisure Centre and for live performances the Theatre Royal is at the top of the town.

There are nurseries and schools close to Stanmore including Poppins nursery, Stanmore St Lukes Pre-School, St Peters Primary School, Stanmore Primary School, Olivers Battery Primary School and for older children Kings secondary school is close by and for further education, Peter Symonds College.

Winchester railway station is within walking distance with direct access to London Waterloo, which is just 55 minutes by train* to Waterloo. The M3 motorway provides easy road access to London, and the south, with Southampton Airport approximately 12 miles away*.
