Location

Warsash village is an attractive residential and yachting centre and is linked to Hamble-le-Rice village opposite by a ferry for pedestrians and cyclists. Warsash has long been one of the most popular centres for sailing in the country, with the River Hamble being crowded with yachts of all sizes. It is also home to the Warsash Maritime Academy, part of Southampton Solent University, which provides training for Merchant Navy Officers from around the world.

Boating still plays an important part in the village's economy, the village having a sailing club as well as several companies that support the leisure boating business. On the waterfront, a memorial commemorates the huge armada which left the River Hamble and the rest of this part of the South coast in 1944 to take part in the D-Day landings.

The village centre with its numerous shops is a short distance from the river and centres around its iconic clock tower. There are four pubs in the village centre and beyond, all serving meals, as well as independent restaurants, cafés and take-aways. Almost none of the Warsash and Hook built-up area interrupts its coastline of 3.6 miles, which is almost entirely backed by countryside, commons and nature reserves, with numerous green walking routes.

The M27 is just 10 minutes away and the M3 less than 11 miles away. Swanwick Station is 1.5 miles away with services to Waterloo, Southampton and Portsmouth. Southampton International Airport and Parkway Station are 10 miles away and 1hr 10minutes to London Waterloo.
